is it possible by now to chose one's search engine? (i use Ecosia and want to stick to that)

if the browser is closed and I open an external link (thunderbird), then SpeedDial will not be opened instead of the link. however, if the browser is already open, it works perfectly.
im getting redirected to yahoo search by FVD speed dial sometimes
Is anyone else experiencing this? In the chrome search bar about once every 30 searches it redirects the search to the yahoo search engine instead of google

Cant sync with firefox. It tooks too long!
Synchronization tooks too much time! Cant download my dials from net.
