I checked EverSync with Virustotal. There is no any virus alert. Maybe the user has some issue on his side.
I advise to check the file on Virustotal yourself.

Automatically opened windows (in backgroud) is dial's preview refresh process. FVD Speed Dial need to get dials' images at least one time. Then you can turn off preview auto update in Settings.

Do you still have this bug? You click + to create new dial, type URL and save it? And then you have "spinning refresh icon" that never stops? What url you try to add? Does it happen to any URL you try to create?

Hello! We recommend to use EverSync, so you can keep all your data on our server. You will be able to restore it any time. EverSync addon creates local backups as well.

In the latest versions of FVD Speed Dial for Firefox, there is built-in version of EverSync, so you don't need to install separate addon.

Hello! try to reinstall FVD Speed Dial. After installation you should have at least one group called "Default"

In addition, you can access your data on everhelper.me website, where you can manage all your bookmarks and dial. Also you can synchronize dials between FVD Speed Dial and Live Start Page addons.
