Auto-Refresh causes temporary new window to appear

Z S 6 years ago updated by Jonatas 5 years ago 11

Prior to today's update (61.9.8 - 25-SEP-2017), dials would auto-refresh silently. As of this morning, every time a dial refreshes (whether automatically, or I do it manually), a new browser window appears briefly for about 3-5 seconds. Hovering over it in the Dock (this is OSX 10.12.6) shows the web page being refreshed.

Why the sudden change in behavior?

That would be the one, except in Firefox, a whole (small) window flashes on the screen in the lower right corner. This behavior did not exist for me prior to today's update.

Please try to reinstall app.

AH HA! I removed and reinstalled, and now refresh works as expected. Thank you, I should have thought of that, myself. Please feel free to close this as resolved.

Sorry, but it doesn't work at all with Vivaldi on windows: uninstalled and reinstalled app, uninstalled and reinstalled Vivaldi to no avail. Only solution, install another version of speed dial but sadly, that one has no customisation at all, with the number of columns blocked at six Max and 5 in auto mode ...

We launched update couple hours ago. Update extension to the latest version:  62.8.5 or Higher

This is the simples option, not always help but we encourage to try.

- Copy and paste in address bar about:support
- Select following http://nimb.ws/Vm5pjy
- Rename this folder to any name and restart Firefox http://nimb.ws/awxfuW BUT don't delete it. Just rename it, for example Storage_OLD

Here is VIDEO

If it won't help, let us know.

Thx. Gonna try it tomorrow

... and I'll keep you posted, of course

except that this update is for firefox and asked you about vivaldi...

Btw, everything was alright on another computer, working with an OLDER version of firefox (dating from two months ago) and another OLD version of Speed Dial too...

Problem still happening.

FF 57.0
