My suggestions : 

1. The ability to set groups as dials. A add-on named Super Start had it - when I switched to speed        dial [FVD] , I missed that feature.

2. Simple clock - Your location, and time in your speed dial

3. Groups inside Groups

4. The ability to show ALL the dials in Popular Group.

5. Sharing My speed dials on Twitter, Google +, Facebook

6. Passcode on dial open

7. A simple note feature

8. Custom search Engine

It may not be possible in an extension, but in Chrome's apps page (which I used in a similar way to Speed Dial in FF), you could set a link to open as a pinned tab automatically.

This was great for gmail, so I could easily open it and keep it open, always have it as the first tab, and not take up a lot of space.

I'm using the latest Mac OS X (10.9.4) and Firefox (30.0) both at office and home. I just installed FVD speed dial to both the Mac computers. It worked well on one at office, but not on the other one at home. I disabled all other addons, but FVD speed dial still doesn't work. Clicking the button in the address bar doesn't cause anything. Loading the page chrome://fvd.speeddial/content/fvd_about_blank.html just shows a blank page (the same shows the speed dial page at office machine). All I can do is to open Tools > Add-ons > Extensions and open the preference dialog for FVD speed dial. Any ideas? I wonder if some about:config parameters are causing conflicts, but not sure.

I would like to be able to change the order of the tabs, so that the ones I use most frequently will be in the front. The dials do that great, but I would like to see the catagory tabs do the same thing.
