When you make a note "read only", it hides embedded YouTube videos. Why?

I often clip articles that contain embedded YouTube videos. Whenever I do this, I tend to make those articles "read only" mode so as to not accidentally edit or remove some text.

Suddenly, images lose alignment and YouTube videos vanish. But then if I made it editable again, it reverts.

Not sure what edit mode has to do with alignment or why that would make videos go away in read-only mode, but thought I'd give it a go, I like making my notes secure from being edited but then I lose the ability to watch embedded videos and also my alignment of images gets all messed up.
